Indigenous

Indigenous people are the group of people recognized as descendants of the people who inhabited Brazil before the arrival of Europeans. At the time of the arrival of Europeans, there were five to seven million indigenous people in Brazil. Currently, the indigenous population is 1.6 million, according to data from the 2022 Census.
